During the Vietnam War, what is Da Nang International Airport was a major air base for South Vietnamese and US air forces.
Da Nang has a beautiful beach waterfront, parts of which are currently under massive development for major resorts and condominium complexes.
Looking at the drastic economic differences between current developments and the average Vietnamese's life style, one can not help
but wonder who is going to benefit from these new developments... this is the puzzle that is Communist Vietnam.
One thing that is obviously apparent is that tourism is a major element keeping the system afloat.
